Dr Weissenberger is a practicing consultant in Gynaecology with over 30 years of experience. He has a continuing interest in laparoscopic surgery, prolapse and incontinence.

Specialist experience includes the treatment of fibroids, pelvic infection and infertility.
Dr Weissenberger commenced his IVF training in 1999 and has joined City Fertility Centre (CFC) because of its emphasis on quality care. He is committed to the high academic and clinical standards practiced by CFC which are unequalled by any other IVF institution in Queensland.

Dr Weissenberger is known for his relaxed and caring approach in his consultations and discussions with patients and their partners. The husband/partner is viewed as an integral part of the infertility work-up and is encouraged to attend consultations when possible.

Each patient is evaluated on an individual basis before selecting an appropriate treatment and Dr Weissenberger is committed to involving the patient in each step of the consultation process.
He will also give a frank assessment of what the risks and success rates of the various treatments are so that the patient can make an informed decision about their treatment.

Professional Qualifications

• Graduated from the University of Witwatersrand (South Africa) with his Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medicine.
• Extensive medical experience from the Queen Victoria Maternity Hospital (South Africa), Gloucester Royal Hospital (U.K.) and O&G Department, Harare Hospital (Zimbabwe).
• Immigrated to Australia from Zimbabwe in 1978.
• Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists since 1976.
• Fellow of the Australian Gynaecological and Obstetrical Society since 1978.
• Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists since 1993.
• Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
