Dr Catarina Ang completed her MBBS at Monash University in 1996. She commenced O&G training in 2000 at Southern Health after completing residencies in Australia and England.

In 2003, Catarina was awarded the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society (AGES) Travelling Fellowship and the RANZCOG Brown Craig Fellowship. She took the post of Clinical Research Fellow at the John Radcliffe Hospital and the University of Oxford. She was then awarded an international fellowship at the CHU Clermont-Ferrand and Centre Internationale de Chirurgie Endoscopique (CICE) in Clermont-Ferrand, France.

Catarina returned to Australia in 2006, taking a position at the Royal Women's Hospital, Melbourne. Here she continues to perform advanced laparoscopic surgery focusing on endometriosis as well as continuing her clinical research.

Her clinical interests are in the areas of endometriosis, adenomyosis, fertility, and pelvic pain. She performs laparoscopic myomectomies, treatment of severe endometriosis, adhesiolysis, entrapped ovaries and hysterectomies.

Catarina is Head of Gynaecology Unit 1 at the Royal Women's Hospital. She is involved in teaching and training of medical students and trainees at the hospital and RACS.
